Transparency Issues : Safari 4 + SWFobject |
|
When I first installed Safari 4 on Windows, and loaded up my website for the first time; I was sort of horrified to see that any Flash content I had on my site with a background set to transparent was showing up with a Blue background. I might add that my Flash content is generally embedded with SWFobject which allows for mirroring of content underneath the movie for those who do not have Flash or like mobile web browsers. Trying to get to the bottom of this catastrophe, I quickly did a bit of Googling only to return absolutely nothing of value on the issue. So I thought I might post about it because perhaps it will save someone else time; the simplest way to resolve the issue is just simply to download and reinstall Flash Player. And poof, the issue is fixed. This won't prevent anyone else from potentially seeing a Blue background; but until I can figure out something else I refuse to give up SWFobject in exchange for the Adobe embed method. SWFobject is just 100% better for SEO than any other method I have found.
