Joomla 1.0x and TinyMCE WYSIWYG Editor Errors & Bugs |
Are you having problems using the TinyMCE editor application that is
bundled by default with Joomla 1.0x? Perhaps it is inserting HTML or an
image into a content article which is most frustrating to you. I have an
easy solution that may help you.
There are quite a few bugs with TinyMCE including with Mozilla code
based browsers like Firefox and Safari in terms of being able to use
Javascript in combination with popup boxes required to make certain
edits. The easiest way to fix the problem is to install the JCE Editor
Component, which is yet another WYSIWYG editor program that has been
designed to integrate into Joomla. It is easy to get it up and running,
simply install the component, configure the options, install the mambot
extensions, and then enable the editor as the default Joomla editor
option, and also make sure that any and all users of all level access
are using the JCE Editor by default as well. This should allow you to do
the things that you were previously unable to do, like on the fly add
images to your content. I hope this helps you and perhaps saves you a
bit of time.
