WEST ORANGE, N.J. — The Limousine Association of New Jersey raised close to $19,000 at its 16th annual auction event May 16, gaining needed funds to advocate on behalf of the state’s operators on legislative and regulatory matters.
About 75 operators, vendors, and industry leaders attended the evening social and networking held at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange. Guests included LCT Publisher Sara Eastwood-Richardson, who spoke about upcoming LCT trade shows, and National Limousine President Gary Buffo.
LCT’s auction donations included several passes to its LCT-NLA Show East event in Atlantic City, Nov. 4-6, and its 2019 International LCT Show in Las Vegas, March 24-27, and the 2019 LCT Summit in Miami Beach.
The LANJ board of directors will hold its next meeting via conference call on May 30. Among the key state issues facing LANJ and New Jersey operators are a proposal by the Governor to reinstate the service tax on ground transportation services that former Gov. Chris Christie had removed, and the legalization of sports betting in Atlantic City, which could have a positive effect on the city’s fortunes.
